No Quads in new iMac!

Well the new releases have arrived,

new iMac, mac mini and mac Pro but no quads in anything but the Pro's

on one hand i'm disappointed but on the other my 2.8 24'' iMac doesn't look like it needs an upgrade

What do people think of these new additions?

I'm considering on a mac mini to connect to my hdtv!

Who really believed a Quad would be going into the iMac?

I woundnt consider an upgrade of any not on any of them from my 2.8 8800, and Mini is just a rip off now.
 
They use laptop chips, so until a quad-core laptop part appears then the iMacs will have to make do.

Edit: OK maybe not, must be thinking about some other model. Quad-Core iMacs would kill a lot of the market for the Pros though.

as something to stream media to my pc, and staying away from any windows stuff i think the lower end mac mini isn't too bad
 
Do you mean stream media from your PC? Because streaming to the PC means storing stuff on the mini, with it's amazingly small hard drive. And streaming from just needs something like a Popcorn Hour. £499 is an insult.
 
yes streaming from my imac or from my external NAS although my ps3 does it if i convert the movies to mp4...... tbh i don't need one and the speed bump on the iMac hasn't got me wanting a new one!
