Hi, I would say every time I turn my PC on, it will be a 50/50 chance whether my monitor will turn on as the PC is booting up. Sometimes it just won't. I then have to turn the switch at the back of the PC, unplug the monitor, replug back in, switch it back on and it works 100℅ of the time.

Its a new monitor, don't think its faulty, but is it something to do with my GPU (its kinda old) or PSU?

Thanks.

What is your PSU and it's age?

And checking my profile, back in October 2010.

Hmm, i have that exact PSU powering an AMD build of the same age, taken it apart a few times for cleaning, solid as a brick.

It is a possibility it being your PSU, but truely, you would need another PC to test with.
Do you have another you can test your GPU/PSU with?

Does your mobo have onboard graphics?
If so, have you tried connecting your monitor to the mobo.
It might even be a dodgy monitor cable.

I'm thinking of upgrading my GPU, I think. It's really old now and I'm noticing it struggling a lot on games. Might go a different route this time and try a card other than Nvidia.

Any ideas on what I should look out for? Might try looking for a second hand card, not wanting to pay too much tbh.
