No signal from HDMI on booting up

Hi guys,
Seem to developed an issue recently. I have tried searching on the forums but no one seems to of had the same or similar symptoms.

Basically when I turn on the PC then my LG TV (connected via HDMI), it just shows no signal on my tv. It seems intermittent however, as if I turn off the PSU and back on again or CMOS clear then boot up then it seems to boot fine. I have already reseated the GPU and RAM. Could this be a problem with Drivers do you think? I have recently updated the AMD drivers to 13.3

Many thanks

I had a similar thing on my Asus Z68 the other day - got me more than a little worried. There was no signal from HDMI or DVI from the GPU or direct from the motherboard. I then realised the lights on my keyboard/mouse weren't lighting so the system wasn't even getting to the BIOS.

After taking a stick of memory out an putting it back, everything was working fine - very strange.

Does your system seem to be properly booting ie. working on another monitor after you can't see anything on the tv?

Hey guys thanks for the quick replies,
I have tried rolling back drivers via device manager back to 12.10 but it still occurs. I have reseated both stick of RAM already.

It seems to boot fine after i turn the PSU off and on and operates fine on desktop and in games. The error occurs if I shut down the machine and power on normally just using the power button. That's when I get no signal.

I wonder if MSI AB or OC guru would interfere, as GPU does have an OC. Should i try uninstalling them and resetting to factory clock speeds?

Well it doesn't sound like a problem with drivers if you can't even see POST. Maybe try updating the BIOS and see if that helps?

Seems im on the latest BIOS. Now its acting weird, on turning it on, it would kick into life then couple of seconds later shutdown and looped this process a few times. Is that power cycling?

Also towards the end of yesterday, it started crashing totally in both normal use and games. I might fit my gtx 480 and see if its a card issue

Hey guys,
Just got round to this again, done as suggested, tried both old GTX480 card on onboard and system has booted up fine twice on each card. I have had one system hang though with the GTX480 plugged in. The system just auto re-booted itself. but I do not have the drivers installed for the 480 yet. I will install the NV drivers and test it on a game see if I get another system crash

I am thinking the issue is down to the AMD card then? I noticed that gigabyte do not do a direct warranty service so just a guess contacting OCUK to sort this out? Do you think I would be able to Replace it with a GTX670 under RMA or is there a way I can pay for the difference in price from HD7950 vs. GTX670?

Many thanks

EDIT:: Just booted up again and I am still getting system hangs. Last one that occurred was on the UEFI screen and then desktop. Would a fresh installion of W7 help on my main SSD or should I start thinking something else is dying hardware wise. Last time it crashed all lights from the Mobo have gone off i.e. power switch, reset, and the Dr.Debug but CPU fans are still spinning and all power LEDs to the GPU still light up. Wow this is weird
