hello,

Just got the sapphire 290-tri.

And I have a constant no signal. I have tried using both dvi ports, even the hdmi, nothing.

Fans are working so that must be a good sign :D

Been looking into this bios update for 290 gpu's, would this be a cause?

Just hoping it ain't doa as that would really suck...

What are your full system specs?

I assume your monitor is ok and can you test onboard graphics.

Hello,

I have my bios already on the latest.

Yes the monitor works, I am now on the onboard graphics.

My specs are,

MB: Asus LX Z77
PSU: CorsairHX 850w
RAM: Gskill 16gb 1600Mhz
GPU: 290 (with a problem)
OS: Win 8.1
SSD 120 in raid.

Had a similiar problem looking at a PC. We had to clear the cmos and for some reason the graphics card then worked.

I had a no signal issue when swapping from my 7990/7970's to an nvidia card recently. Reset the bios and even that didn't fix it. I emailed the guy saying I wanted a refund after changing from dvi, hdmi, different adaptors etc and just gave up.

I then used a vga adaptor and plugged it into an old monitor and I had a picture, just at vga quality. I then was able to install the relevant nvidia drivers and voila, it worked on my good monitor after a reboot.

Right after re formatting back to win 7. It worked until I installed the 13.12 drivers.

Then it seems that it had a problem with the motherboards ruling of running the card on a gen3 link.

So as of now it seems to be working, as long as it isn't on gen3.

Which I think is pcie 3.0?

Not bad for 4 hours of head scratching :D
