just built a new rig and it wont display over dvi, monitor is a vx2025 and a bfg 8800gts. no problems outputting over vga. so could this be my monitor at fault or my dvi cable. had no such problems on my previous system which this one replaced 2 days ago

I have a similar problem where after a driver change, the monitor would go into standby mode when windows loads and it's connected via DVI. Switching to vga via the onscreen display 'revives' it.
If this is the case (standby mode when you reach the login screen) try binding a hotkey to toggle screen rotation using nvidia control panel/CCC/Atitool. This can 'jog' the DVI back to life without having to reconnect cables.

got it sorted now, tried monitor on my brothers system, 7900gt driver ver 93.71 on his cards dvi. worked ok on his, so i unplugged it tried it on my own rig and it detected it straight away. bit strange but im also pretty relieved didnt fancy going through another rma for monitor or graphics card.
