Managed to get a 2nd hand GPU off MM from a kind person. Since day 1 this (not yet) issue happens. Upon cold booting, or computer restart, the monitor only comes to life around the time of the desktop loading. So sometimes desktop, sometimes log in screen (auto sign in), i think maybe once or twice i've seen the MSI screen appear. As i type this i realise this is an issue as how would i know what key to press for bios if i had a new board?
Last night i was gaming for a hour, because i've been playing with settings on an old unoptimised game it's been difficult to see changes. I thought it was just me messing with settings, but to get back to the original 1440p at 144fps seemed impossible to get back. I was moving from dx 8,9,10,11. But last night temps seemed 5c higher, pushing to 70c, but the last week since i had the card they've been 55/60c. Fine temps for this card regardless. So 5c doesn't seem out of ordinary. Then i closed game went into Edge and loaded Netflix, black screen. Tried using another cable, from previously using HDMI, then using a new DP cable instead. Tried on/off, few messing about, then gave up. Being late just went to the TV and sort it out tomorrow (which is today).
"no signal" black screen still the case today, wasn't until i tried all the below some life came back.
Got out old monitor as i have a new one which i was using with my old card fine. New monitor i got from OC clearance. Tried various ports, various cables, both monitors, both new and old GPUs, 2x both new PCIe cables, different PCIe slots on PSU. When i boot with the old card shows instant slash screen, on either/both monitor.
There's a white LED on the GPU, having search this is normal. There's another unlit LED by the side of it, but that never comes on and don't what colour it would be. Motherboard shows no lights.
Spec:
New monitor: Gigabyte G32QC
Old monitor: Samsung F390
New 2nd hand GPU: Asus Dual rx580 4gb
Old GPU: Gigabyte Windforce OC rx460 2gb (not direct PSU powered)
PSU: Seasonic Focus Gold 650w (probably 6 months old now)
Motherboard: MSI B550 Mortar Max
CPU: Ryzen 3600
Latest Radeon drivers, WIn 10, unsure on MB bios as no need to update atm. Most recent driver updates were a few months ago. Latest firmware on Gigabyte monitor.
Any help?
Thanks
(Edit)
Managed to replicate the screen crash by loading Netflix on Edge again, this time with old GPU and old monitor.
Going to try removing cmos battery as i have nothing.
