Hello just built a spec and it is having one teething problem.

Whenever i restart or the computer goes into sleep or the like the monitor wont find a signal from the computer the screen just stays blank but the computer is on and fine. I have to turn the computer off and back on again for it to work properly.

What monitor are you using mate?

Friend of mine is having a lot of trouble with DVI on his 4870 x" on a P5Q Deluxe board. His screen is a sammy and it deciding not to like DVi at all, VGA is fine it's just DVi he's having the problem with.

Dell S2409W 24" Widescreen True HD LCD Monitor - Black

My main rig runs fine through DVI but this system i built is having trouble with the analogue input.

LKike i said it is only when the computer is restarted or goes to sleep, its like the monitor is not told to turn itself on again.

To cut a long storey short, i have ordered all the 'big parts' to my parents house (case, psu, monitor) and i am just installing windows on it here and getting it ready just to take back the HDD, Mobo & CPU to save me carting it back from london.

Could it be that i am using a PSU that is not powerfull enough for the system its a generic 300w one. But i am not running any thing to demanding off it.

All ideas would be a great help, as i want to make sure i give my parents a rock solid computer.
