no signal

everytime i go to play css it loads up for a second then on the screen no signal comes up i have tried unplugging monitor etc. what is wrong? my graphics card need reinstalled?

basically you need to go to add/remove programs uninstall the drivers for your gfx card. Then go to the manufacturer website, i.e. either nvidia or ATI and then download the correct gfx driver corresponding to your gfx card.....Once you have un installed, you will be asked to restart the computer. Then after this, install the new driver, and then restart once more....job done

Could be, when pottering around windows the GPU on mine runs about 200MHz slower than when in games. This could be the reason.
