No signal....

A friend decided to disconnect a noisy hard drive and now there is no signal.

I have had a look and everything seems fine with all cables connected properly.

When I remove the cmos battery (5 mins) and then re-insert, the pc starts up fine but after shutting down/restarting it goes back to no signal.

specs: H77 g43 mobo
i5 3570k
samsung ssd
16gb hyper ram
msi gtx 970

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try a new CR2032 battery - probably flat/failing.

Check the monitor cable, make sure it's plugged into the graphics card and not the onbaord.
