No SLI for Conroe

with no official link i dont believe a word of it. no company in their right mind would say that and shoot themselves in the foot regardless of whose in bed with who. joe public doesnt care about ATI being chummy with intel and by stating they wont offer their premium chipset because theyre in a mardy at intel, nvidia just arent that stupid. they know enough about marketing to swing this one as well. :)

I seem to remember when voodoo combined two cards everyone thought they were amazing - it wasn't long before a single card came out with considerably better performance.

Perhaps thats what people mean? In time there will be a single card that is better.

also only the top end cards in sli is faster most buy 1 card then another later
for example 2 6800 gt's aint faster than 1 x1900 or a 7900gtx

er... well maybe nvidia wont need sli, i just read and i quote 'The next iteration of the 7900GTX will feature two GPU's on a single card, making it four in an sli configuration'

I might well be wrong, i dont know all that much or claim to lol, but if that were the case then that would be why sli wont need to be supported no?

At the moment those cards are only available in pre built systems. But later on they could be available to buy separately.
