no sound after putting in a new dvd drive and removing network card

so i have added a new dvd drive and removed the extra network card i put in to sort a problem which it didn't do. Now i got no sound. Anyclues as to why? I rechecked and nothing is wrong inside the machine so anything might have changed on windows?

Cables connected at the back correctly? Is the sound hardware showing up in device manager?

Drivers are all installed correctly?

Is the sound card seperate or intergrated in to the motherboard?

You haven't muted anything by accident, that happened with a friend. I went all the way their to fix it and they had accidently muted something
