Have lost audio from my HDMI connection on my monitor. Thought the monitor was at fault so swapped .. still no sound. Started digging around and I have lost some audio control functions via taskbar ?? OK .. I reinstalled drivers for nvidia .. but they failed to load at startup .. I have to manually go into nvidia folders and start them. But even then there is no sound via HDMI .. so connected up optical out from my mobo (7.1 surround capable) .. still no sound .. Couldn't find my Realtek drivers (dunno what happened) but reinstalled version 2.81 (stable version) .. now I can get some sound (youtube vids) .. but if i try and play audio (mp3) then it states no device to playback or error no codec to playback ??? WTF .. I cannot control any aspect of playback other than master volume .. so therefor cannot play anything with more than 2 channels. Anybody got advice on where to start please
