No Sound - Help?

Hey, I currently have some Philips speakers.

The jack is plugged in the right socket, the mains are plugged in, the power light is on (the speakers), the volume is up on both the speakers and PC.

Yet, no sound? Please help, thanks.

First, check it isn't muted, then try a couple of tests. Plug headphones straight into the soundcard and check for output from there. Then try removing the speaker plug from the PC and just touch the tip of it with the speakers on and up high; do you hear buzzing when you touch it?

I have found the source of the problem.

The speaker jack on the back panel has no output, so I've just plugged my speakers into the headphone jack at the front, and all is working.
