No sound in Media Player 11 on DVD's?

Hi guys,

I don't seem to be getting any sound through Media player 11 when playing dvd's (either in the drive or VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS) on my media pc, The same dvd's and dvd files play with sound on my other 2 computers and on my media pc all the other types of movies play (xvid, divx etc..) but for some reason i only get video and no audio, Also i get no codec errors.

anyone got any idea's how to fix this?

I had the same kind of problem, in media center i managed to setup my speakers and set it as 5.1 surround sound yet i'm only using 2 speakers, so when playing in WMP & VLC i was receiving no sound at all, I changed it back to 2.1 and now have my sound back.
Not sure if this is causing no sounds for you but it's worth a try

you may need a AC3 filter

You may need to ensure your speakers are plugged in and turned up.

The problem is that all other media files play with no problems it is just DVD's, I have the AC3 codec installed and the sound is not set to go out the speakers it is set to go through the HDMI port.

This is a really strange problem any other idea's?
