I've just installed Ubuntu (Ultimate 1.8 x64) on a separate hard drive. Have Vista x64 running on my other one. No problems on Vista at all, and everything running OK on Linux it seems (all new to me though), but my sound isn't working and I can't figure out why - not that I really know where to start! I have a Creative X-Fi Music card. Anyone know how I can get it working? Are there drivers out there somewhere? Linux is a bit of maze to me right now...!

Creative have released a driver for the X-Fi but I don't know if it's in the repositories so you may need to download it from Creative's site and install it manually.

Try this URL... http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppo...ame=X-Fi+XtremeMusic&filetype=11&OSName=Linux

Untar the file (right-clicking it should show an option to extract it otherwise use tar -xvjf name_of_file from a shell) and there's supposed to be a ReadMe file with instructions on how to install it.
