Muahaha, edit was after the post :-)

What happens if you listen to something else in the browser (try ITV player for silverlight) - does that work?

Are you using the latest version of flash. I've seen this cause this problem before. Also, tried a different browser? Flash installs are different between IE and Firefox for example.

This randomly happened to me over a couple of months. Nothing I tried could fix it 100% I guess something got updated and it just fixed itself in the end. Tried rebooting your PC?

Tried it :p

You name it, ive tried it. Even a registry fix :/

Happy’s probably right – in few days time it will probably just magically start working. In the mean time you could try this (if you haven’t already)

Try uninstalling flash - reboot.
Uninstall sound card drivers - reboot.
Re-install - latest soundcard drivers - reboot.
Re-install latest flash.

(The rebooting isn't strictly necessary - but i have found with non-descript errors like this that sometimes the over cautious approach sometimes has better results.)

Keep all pairable extremities crossed - and see if it works.

Try searching/posting for your problem here - link. You'll hopefully get more luck as it's a dedicated forum.

EDIT: Somene even has the same problem as you on the first page - but no useful reply as yet. I would do a search as it's evidently a common problem and may have been resolved in a previous thread.

What about trying other browsers, Opera etc?

Are you trying to convert ppl from the dark side via flash problems happy? Very slick ;)

I may be running a Linux set up soon for the first time - be prepared to look out for my 'Ok, what did i do wrong?' thread.

EDIT: Must have had a TIA while reading that - for some reason i read Opera as ubuntu... :/ However, if by some fluke you are a Linux user - still look out for my thread ;)

At the moment if you scanned my rigs i would come across as Bill Gates love child as I have XP Pro, Win 7 and explorer set up on all of them.

The reason being, i thought i could survive with Win 7 alone and so I got rid of my dual boot setups - this proved to be a mistake. So i've had to re-install (both OS's) - and i'm slowly updating bits as and when i need them. FF will be next on my list - once i've found my addon preferences.

I'm a new convert to FF - i like the way it can be b*st*rdized to your needs and so far have found very few sites that have conflicts. It's probably benefited from the fact that I.E. 8 still runs like a beta release on ritalin - well mine does.

Ditch XP! Windows 7 is where it's at :p Not had any problems that couldn't be solved by either installing Server 2008 drivers or by running in compatibility modes :)

I agree, whole heartedly, and I’m sat in a Win 7 environment 99% of the time – I love it. (I'm even sounding like Bill Gates love child now!)

My main problem is that my wife’s a Head of a primary school and has all types of, what appears to be, deliberately badly coded software that will only run if you guide it by the hand and reassure it with constant affirmations– and that’s in an XP environment. Install them to Windows 7 and they think you’re trying to introduce them to the OS equivalent of Josef Fritzl.

I’m fairly confident I could resolve some of the issues but I’m not sure I could stop the amount of times I would still have to stop what I’m doing to sort out a problem that my wife is having in an unfamiliar OS. Therein lies the nub… ;)
