No sound on Bootcamp

Ive just installed XP on bootcamp, however I cant seem to get the sound working. I dont have the bootcamp disk, but ive tried installing the realtek sound driver software, to no avail. After installing the realtek driver, the unknown audio hardware in device manager became a known piece of hardware (with drivers), but the sound still doesn't work.

We actually found there is sound, its just incredibly quiet, even with all volumes turned up. Can anyone explain this?

Try VirtualBox?...assuming BootCamp is virtual environment software?
