Damn wierd thing:

All drivers and the like seem fine, put i can't get a peep out of my speakers. Checked everything I can think of, inc:

speakers (obviously)
muted
cables plugged in properly
drivers

anyone any other ideas???
Thanks

Oh, and it works with a USB audio device

Err, why small form factor forum? This is a general motherboard issue surely, not SFF

Shuttle problems generally find their way in here.

Don't worry, some of us that post in the SFF forum still know what we're talking about, I think... *wibbles* ;)

Anyhow, what were you doing when you started having sound problems? Did you change anything at all?

It's a fresh nLited install - i had presumed for a while the sound was fine since the drivers were fine, but when i finally get around to plugging it in....

I'm pretty sure the problem isn't related to the nLited-ness, since USB audio works, and I didn't remove anything sound-related.

I guess the next logical step would be to ghost this windows, install a regular xp and see if it works with that - but it's soo much effort with the hardware i'm using...... i've currently given in and am using this usb box i've got, but i wish i didn't have to

Try a hardware reset of the bios - worked for me (unplug mains, reset bios jumper)

Also watch overclocking, this can cause the audio hardware to be detected OK, but no sound.
