No sound on vista help plz

Hi all im posting this on behalf of my m8. Hes just installed vista 64bit on to his pc but has no sound and mic imputs are not showing up a mic is connected. Any ideas on how to sort this. Much appreciated

gotta install sound drivers mate

download trial everest, look up your chipset and download teh drivers for it
