No sound out of speakers

Hi folks

Right here's my set-up:

Creative Gigaworks 7.1 speakers connected to Creative decoder.

Samsung LCD TV (Also used as PC monitor) connected to Creative Decoder using RCA cable via TV audio out to the corresponding anologue in sockets on the Decoder.

Philip's DVD progressive scan dvd player connected to the TV via component sockets and optical cable (for audio) connected from the dvd player to the Decoder.

Now when watching dvd's through the dvd player or listening to music via the PC the sound comes through the speakers fine, no probs there.

However say I'm watching TV only, computer and dvd player switched off I cannot get the sound from the TV through to the speakers. When watching TV the sound comes through the TV's speakers. I would like to listen to the audio via the 7.1 speakers not the TV speakers.

Given in mind the set-up above have I set it up wrong.

Thanks for any opinions/advice.

You might need to enable Internal Mute (or worded something similar) in the Audio option for the TV. Basically, there is an option that switches off the TV speakers and channels the sound to the RCA sockets.
