no sound problems

ive got the onboard realtek audio but its gone of today ive tried differnet drivers but not that. so when i go into the control panel to check everything is ok apart from sound playback, default device, no play back device, ive checked cables al is ok.any help please.p.s would there be a way to check if sound card has gone on you board thanks

just a quick update to it as soon as i load dxdiag it comes up problem getting extra sound info result code=0x80070057 invalid argument and when i go to try test using this port as soon as i try with the realtek ac97 it blue screens do you think its a faulty sound card
