No sound when playing Divx?

Just installed ubuntu 8.04, i can play mp3 etc.. couldn't play Divx at first with mplayer or totem, but i can with VLC but i don't have sound tho? What am i doing wrong guys ?

even though you've got it solved,
add the medibuntu repos, by following the instructions here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu
to get it working
