I've just installed my new X-Fi Fatal1ty sound card but I can't hear anything through my headphones. The card is installed, recognized by Windows and latest drivers are being used. I've put the headphones into the Line1 and Line2 at the back as well as the front headphones socket using the adapter but nothing comes through on any port.

I've run Winamp and changed the options to force it to use the new card as opposed to the old card and then played some music. The music is playing and yet nothing comes through.

I've connected the front panel and the sound card with the cable and connected both parts to the power supply. The sound card is in the PCI slot, it must be properly inserted otherwise surely the PC wouldn't detect the card?

I've run the diagnostic tool that Creative installs and everything passes, the card is using analogue signals not digital.

Can anyone think of anything I've done wrong or need to do? Should I remove the drivers and software and install everything? Is there something that I might have unselected for install that might actually be needed? I didn't let SoundFont or whatever install, is that what I need?

I'm also running a Nebula DigitTV PCI card and I think that perhaps my sound card and TV card share some drivers? Would this cause a problem?

Bump. No one has any ideas? I've posted on another site and someone replied recommending a reinstall of Windows because he thinks the Creative drivers are crap.

I might do this, I've got an nLite install I want to test so now might be a good time to test this out.
