No Sound

Hi,

I've come to use my computer tonight and found I have no sounds. It can't be my sound driver because I can play things through sibelius and winamp okay. I can't get any windows sounds though or anything through media player- the sounds control panel from the windows control panel wont let me play anything and media player appears as though it's playing but nothing comes through the speakers

Any ideas?

Check wave volume... even if you haven't adjusted it.

I lost audio earlier and it had muted somehow. (not master volume, only wave).

I know it sounds silly but you never know...
