No sound :*(

Yo all,

Basically reformatted PC today and i can't get the sound to work. I've tried installing the drivers that came with the motherboard and the latest ones from the tinternet and even though it seems as if they are installing fine, after the reboot there's no evidence that they have.

Any help would be great.

If it's onboard HD-Audio then it might need SP2 installed before it will work.

i had a similar problem with my rig a few months back.

it turned out installing sp2 had screwed up the plug and play software device enumerator.

its under device manager in the system devices part.

if its the same problem there will be a yellow icon next to it.

What's your spec etc? Motherboard mainly...

It's not something as simple as turning up volume bars I hope?

Might be worth looking in control panels as well, just encase certain check boxes need to be checked etc.

My pc's got sp3 so no need for sp2 to be installed... Anymore ideas?

Click control panel > sounds and speech > sounds and audio devices.

Under volume tab, anything showing up as an audio device?
