no sound

Onboard sound enabled in BIOS?

Speakers actually plugged in?

Voulme icon not set to mute?

Is the sound output device set as your onboard sound, rather than digital output, or spidf or similar?

Have you installed your motherboard chipset drivers, and sound drivers?

thanks for your responce
how to you enable sound in bios
their is no volume icon and looked on control panel in sound and cannot change anything
ive been on the gigabyte website tried to download the drivers but it extracts then nothing happens

you have to press a key during startup to access bios
usually F2 F10 or DELETE key
dont mess around with bios if you are unsure
hope you fix it

right click 'my computer' - 'mange' - 'device manager' is there an exclamation next to sound?

You had sound before you reformatted, if so, as said driver needs to be installed, if you see where the files were extracted to, see if there is a setup.exe that you need to run.
