No spdif out on my fujitsu laptop :(

I have a fujitsu amilo 1437g, it has a realtek HD audio chip with a shared line out/spdif socket.

I have set the digital out to be on, and plugged it into my reciever with a 3.5mm - 2RCA interconnect, tried both left and right channels but there is no signal.

Any ideas?

sound city needs some new experts lol. The problem turned out to be a simple one. The spdif output is optical not coaxial, hence no signal
