No Thermal Paste!!

So I've just recieved a swiftech compact kit, and it's come with no thermal paste, no shops around here stock in, and i need it today. Will my step-dad has any round the house for other uses, or is there a substitute i can use?

What cpus is it? you might get away with running stock with no paste for a couple of days till you get some if its a relatively cool chip and leave the case side off for extra ventilation etc.
 
The paste that is leftover on the chip should be enough. Its not ideal, but better than nothing at all.
Keep an eye on temps.

yeah just leave the paste on and give it a good wiggle when you seat it. Assuming you dont overclock it should be ok just boot it up and goto the BIOS and see what temps you get for an hour or so. If it goes above something like 60 or 70oC id leave it ( but i very much doubt it will ).
