No thrills 3.2g C2 build?

Hi guys

basically I am looking for a no thrills build which will see me around 3.2g

Parts I am looking at are:

Ds3
OcUK 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400
E6400 Retail

Would these parts give me what im after?

Spend the extra 20 and get the Geil 6400.

Will allow tighter timings and a better overclock.

The 6300 will do 3.2 with the geil so I would get that instead putting the money saved towards the ram.

You also need a better cpu cooler too.

AF7 or something similar

Also, if you're really trying to save, get the S3 over the DS3 and save a tenner

Ok changed spec to :

Gs3
6300
Artic freezer 7
geil 6400


Kinda tempted to change the 6300 for the 6400 retail to make sure of clock I am after, or am I just being silly

imo you would be being silly as most 6300's are doing 3.2ghz! but if you want to be certain and have the money spare then go for a 6400 (mines currently does 3.2ghz orthos stable on stock volts, and 3.4ghz windows stable on stock volts )

Make sure you get the 965 version of the S3 btw.

Anywho, based on peoples experiences with Geil ram (plenty of threads over in memory section) gonna go against the flow re CPU.
You'll need ~ 457 FSB to get your 3.2ghz from a 6300, whilst the board certainly will be capable it could be hit and miss as to whether the ram will make it. You may well end up with crappy ram and not make 3.2ghz.
Either spend a little more ram wise, or grab a E6400 - 3.2ghz comes from 400 FSB which won't be a problem for the Geil. Should give you a little headroom overclocking wise too.

There's no doubting an E6300 will make 3.2ghz, it's just concern's over the ram required to take it there
