Just been tinkering about with Vista Media Center today and using the 360 as an Extender.

Can see and play all my videos but when browsing none of them display a thumbnail video - it's just a cyan box with the filename in.

Anyone know if I can force it to do show by way of purging a cache or something somewhere? The thumbnails display OK in Vista Explorer so there's nothing wrong with the files themselves.

EDIT: Couple of other points which may be important - the videos are stored on an external USB2 My Book and my graphics card is a Radeon 9250 which is not good enough for Aero.

what kinda video files is it not displaying the thumbnail?

if it's like my original problem I had I downloaded the Vista codec pack (found via GOOGLE) and ensured FFDshow was assigned the correct codec against DIVX/XVID accordingly.

works fine for me me now.....!

Hope this helps

(ps. there is a 64bit add on pack also if like me you are running Vista 64)
