Hi,

I tried to install a 6800GT (AGP) into my MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, but upon power on I get nothing but a mess of white and grey pixels.
It is second hand from someone who is confident it worked before (and I can trust this person, they aren't having me on).
I am using a Thermaltake 480W PurePower, on which I used a clean Molex channel.
I uninstalled the old drivers.
I reset the CMOS
I checked for dust.
I tried different monitors/outputs.
The fan powers up, and I get standard "everything's OK" bleep. It continues loading, passes POST, etc, just shows a mass of pixels. You can't even begin to make out what is on the screen.
I used all correct static precautions.
And finally, my 9800Pro works with no problems in the same slot, off the same molex.

Any ideas?

only way to check is to install the card in another PC not yours and see what is displays! if its the same in another PC chances are its a duff card!

I had the same problem with a LeadTek 6800. It was perfect for about 20 minutes then suddenly died on me with white/purple/black artifacts on the screen. The artifacts stayed there even when the computer was booting up. I had to RMA it . New one works fine though :)
