I’ve ordered one of your ---
£321.23 x 1 - *OVERCLOCKED* AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz @ 3.80GHz Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P Motherboard Corsair XMS3 DHX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600C9DHX Bundle
When I turn it on the fans start to spin, no bios beep and nothing on the monitor. The VGA card works in another computer, the monitor works, I’ve unplugged everything I can and still no signal.
It’s looking like the motherboard or processor is faulty, could you suggest how I can get this exchanged, I must have phoned the support number a million time this week and it’s always engaged.
Obviously I want to get the motherboard fixed before my 28 days runs out, I can’t get anyone on the phone, I posted a webnote and they suggest I post my situation here…

Help.

Have you tried resetting the cmos?, also does your board need a bios update for the PII?

I have the same series of board as you and I had to do a bios update to get it to post the PII!

If it's a bundle then it should work fine at the advertised speed. Did you change any of the modifiers?

If so, clear the CMOS, there should be a jumper or a button on your motherboard, and try it at stock speed. You might also want to speak to one of the Tech guys here who should be able to run through all the settings etc.

Yes it sounds like the cmos needs reset, as thats the normal beahaviour (When I turn it on the fans start to spin, no bios beep and nothing on the monitor)! Happens to me sometimes when ocing!

The most common issue that causes this is that the 4 or 8-pin CPU power connector isn't hooked up. I do it all the time.

Hi Guys, I am actually looking at this bundle at the moment and it looks to be a bargain!

I am concerned with this post though, are the bundles not ready to go out of the box? Wouldn't resseting the cmos also undo all ocuk's overclocking?

The bundles are fine - they're all tested. As WJA96 pointed out it might just be he forgot to plug in the 4pin CPU connector.

My initial reply was based on my first experiences with the CPU. I upped the CPU modifier, restarted and got the exact same issue i.e. no BIOS beep and display.

Still have a problem

Hi Guys - Thanks for the posts

The CPU fan is connected and spinning (and would not spin unless connected to the motherboard or psu), I haven't touched any settings in the BIOS. I've tried resetting the BIOS and it still does the same.

I would love to speak to someone at the help desk but it's just engaged all the time.

unable to update the BIOS, but shouldn't have to... I'll have to keep trying the tech number I think.

Thanks for the ideas..

Having a quote on my own post! Obviously if you bought a mobo bundle the bios would be updated! God Sorry I am having a bad week! : )

But if you rma the board ask them what is wrong with it then you can post here, just interested!

checking the 4/8 pin power would be a good idea if you not already done. Or it could be just a plain PSU issue presuming your using that Corsair 620w still it should be upto the job (i run my sig rig on one).

The board could be shorting or something as well so if you can test it outside the case and test the PSU (a long shot)

I dunno how tease bundles are shipped but if it was ship with the ram and cpu in it be worth checking there in correctly as the movement it being in transit could have disturbed a connector.

Hope this helps
