Hi, I wonder if anyone can help please. I have posted in general as although I suspect it may be graphics card related it could be something else.
I built a new PC earlier in the year but have been having an intermittent problem. Approximately 50% of the time the computer boots but there is no signal displayed on the screen. The computer does boot into windows and I can connect to it from other PCs (e.g using Steam in-home streaming) but the screen remains black as if no signal is being received. I have to power cycle the PC multiple times until it starts working.
The motherboards on-board graphics works without fault 100% of the time.
I have tried the following
1) Cleared CMOS (removed battery 30 mins etc)
2) Reseated all hardware on motherboard
3) Tried booting from one stick of ram in various slots
4) Tried all 3 PCI slots on the motherboard
5) Tried different HDMI cables
6) Updated to latest bios
7) Tried different output from PSU to the graphics card
Worthy of note is that this problem occurred from the very first time I used this graphics card. When no signal is displayed on the screen the fans on the graphics card do spin and the lights are on.
When working the computer is rock solid stable - it can run prime95 on blend for as long as I've left it (12 hours) and can play modern PC games for hours on end.
Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be please?
Cheers
