Hi everyone,

So I've just completed a new build based on an I5-10400F on an Asus Prime Z490P motherboard and on first boot I caught a fleeting glimpse of an American Megatrends screen which said something like press F1 to setup new CPU but when I did that nothing appeared to happen and now when I power up I have absolutely no video output so cannot enter the bios or do anything.

Case fans and graphics card fans are all illuminated and spinning but absolutely no video output.

My original graphics card was an RX570 but I have also now tried another known working graphics card but still no video output.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far:
Was using HDMI, tried VGA = nothing.
Reset CMOS = nothing
If all else fails I will try removing the RAM but they are the new type slots which only have the lever at one end and I find it more tricky to remove the RAM from these and am worried about damaging the slots.

OK, graphics card is now back in the first pcie slot and that's also now working :) As the holes in the case for the 2 x screws securing the graphics card do not line up perfectly with the graphics card backplate, I'm now wondering if these were pulling the card and not allowing it to sit properly in the slot, (I've now tweaked the back of the case slightly to correct this).

Just one of those oddities, had that same issue when repurposing my previous GPU (into mum's system), exact same fix, boot up in secondary PCI-E slot then move back into the primary.

Thanks for all your help, very much appreciated.

I will swap back to my RX570 tomorrow and hopefully that will also now work in the first slot and I can then move on to installing Windows.

I will keep you posted.
:-)
