Put together my new Z79 board and i7 on my desk and powered it up and everything worked.

Put it in it's case, powered it up and I'm not getting video signal from either the board or the dedicated GPU.

I've stripped it back to just the board, cpu, stick of ram and cleared the BIOS and I'm still not getting a signal.

If I plug the monitor in, via HDMI, DVI or VGA, (or DP using the GPU) the monitor detects something has been plugged in. But when it comes to booting the machine up it's as if the board (and GPU) are incapable of sending the signal that there is video that needs to be displayed. I can't even access the bios as a result.

Tried everything and it's driving me nuts. Any ideas? I've ruled out it being the monitor since connecting a Brix to it via hdmi and DP works without issue.

RJC, you're a god damn genius. How the hell you pinned it down to that I don't know. After I posted the above I thought "can't just be the cooler is too tight", so loosened it a bit and the damn thing is now giving a signal over all ports including GPU...
