No Video when using IGFX on Gigabyte Z77 motherboard

I get video output and windows boots normally if I put a graphics card in, but when I take it out there is no video signal going to the DVI-D socket on the motherboard.

I have tried going into the bios and enabling IGFX and I have also installed the driver.

I have tried taking out the battery on the MB.

Also tried PSU power disconnection and holding power button down to reset the CMOS.

The board is Gigabyte SKT-1155 Z77-DS3H

Any ideas?

What connector and monitor are you trying to use?

In BIOS is "first display" device set Auto to IGP etc?

DVI-D, my monitor doesn't have a VGA or hdmi

When I do this, the screen shows no signal.

I personally would try

1) Update the BIOS

2) Reinstall the OS in case something daft has happened.
