No webpages but have internet connection

Windows XP computer can't access or ping webpages.
its picked up the DHCP server on either wireless or wired, and i've also inputted the addresses manually.
Pinging google.com gets no reply, but pinging 64.233.167.99 does.

Tried the winsock fix and tried the XP repair connection, and neither has solved it.

any ideas?

hows your DNS server? tried openDNS or somthing?

Sounds like your DNS servers are playing up.

Try doing ipconfig/all and see what DNS servers you have there?

I forgot to mention, that there are loads of other computers connected here at work and they all work fine. same router, even tried the same cable. in fact we have 2 separate networks with 2 different ISP's here at work, and it doesn't work on either of them
Its just this one.
no zonealarm, just standard XP firewall.

Try ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew

check the DNS/gateway isn't specifiyed in the propertys (ie get settings from DHCP)

didn't work.
and yes it is on full DHCP

try setting the DNS server to one of the big free jobbies?

and just tried the open DNS servers and still nothing.

hmm, when did this start?
try
rolling back windows updates
plugging in PCI network card and using that
setting the IP etc manualy.
do a scan with ad-aware etc see if anythings going on there
check hosts file for edits etc

Oh well, just did the universal fix.

Format, reinstall.

roll back that update, I had the same kinda thing the other day, nwe update, no network!
