Hi,

I've just done a clean install of XP on a Sony Vaio VGN-X505 laptop.

I've installed all of the drivers in the correct order, but for some reason there is no wireless connection icon showing in the "Network Connections" folder. All I can see is this:

I've tried re-installing the wireless driver and re-booting, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I had to go in to Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager and then there was a question mark next to the wireless driver (in network adapter). I double clicked the wireless driver and updated it using a driver I'd downloaded from the Sony support website and hey presto I could see the wireless connection in network connections.
