Noctua + EVGA 680

Hi
It's my own fault for not looking at the motherboard compatibility list on the Noctua website but i have ordered this cooler and then noticed that it is not compatible with the c00 release of my board due to some capacitors obstructing the backplate.
Has anyone fitted one of these with some modifications to the backplate or am i stuffed?

I've seen people who've drilled holes in the back plate where the capacitors are. Seems to work a treat TBH.
