First post, please be gentle :D Never OC'd before apart from the 30Mhz extra from my GPU last night :D

Has anyone fit the Noctua NH-D14 in a fractal core 3000 case ? From looking at the Noctua website my m.board and Ram should be fine but i'm concerned it won't actual fit in the case.

Not wanting to go mad on the overclock maybe 4.0, I just want to do it and then forget it. Its a gaming machine for me :)

Other alternative was the Noctua NH-U12P SE2 that I've seen in the case as its a bit smallier. Any help would be awesome, also I'll most likely have questions about the actual OC but I'll do my research first :)

Thanks

Jim

This is with an NH-U12P:

As you can see, enough clearance for the NH-D14 which is only a couple of mm taller.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It seems to fit the D14
"In terms of clearance – for the CPU cooler we appear to just about have the space to install high-end coolers like the Noctua NH-D14 and Thermalright Silver Arrow (both 160mm in height). Pictured is the Noctua NH-U12P that is 158mm in height."

Funny you should mention this, been looking at these too!

Over in the passive cooling thread ;)

Nice setup btw. I left my top Cage in and rotated, hides cables a little more and still allows the airflow!

Thanks bud, yeah its got to go back in as I'm replacing the 3.5" drive and adding another so need the extra bays now.
