Noctua NH-D14 - Socket 2011

Can anyone tell me please if Noctua NH-D14 will be compatible with the new socket 2011 mobo's?

Cooling specialist Noctua has just announced that the company will soon introduce a special version of its popular high-performance NH-D14 CPU cooler which will include out-of-the-box support for Intel's upcoming processors using the LGA 2011 platform.

No doubt these will will come with the correct mounting kit over time as stocks are replenished.

For existing coolers you need a new mounting kit:

The new SE2011 version will be shipped together with the company's SecuFirm2 mounting system that Noctua is currently delivering free of charge to its clients who have purchased a Noctua cooler since 2005 and who also plan to get an LGA 2011 board or CPU.

Asrock motherboards have allowed users to use older coolers on 1155 so that maybe an option as well.

i doubt it. socket 2011 looks like it will be bigger than socket 1366, so it doesnt look like there are any existing older socket mounts that will fit around socket 2011

quite happy to be proved wrong here though

Not this time.

They only have the one set of CPU cooler mounting holes.

i asked them about this for a friend, to send it to you they want to see a receipt for the D-14 and the x79 board
