Boo frickin hoo, the Noctua NH-U12F doesn't fit on my IP35 board... hmm.
SITUATION 1:
Mounting the heatsink horizontally (in an Antec P182) where the fan is attached on the underside of the sink blasting air through it towards the top exhaust = fan obstructed by northbridge heat sink.
SITUATION 2:
Mounting the heatsink vertically where fan is attached on the side nearest to drive bays where fan is blasting air through the sink towards the rear chassis exhaust = heatsink obstructed by northbridge heatink.
I am wondering, will the cooling be ok if the fan is pulling air through the sink, i.e. the fan is mounted on the top (with heatsink in horizontal position) pulling air through and pushing it towards the top exhaust. Technically the fan will be the last component the air cooling the CPU will pass, before case exhaust.
I don't really want to mess with the NB heatsink.
Eek
