A lot of people on these forums seem to be saying that the Noctua is one of if not the best air cooler you can buy. I'd stick with it if I were you, I doubt you'd see more than a degree or two's difference from anything else.

The real difference comes from water cooling.

I like the way you've planned your OC's btw ;)

Thanks for the quick reply.

I thought as much, brings me back to my old saying 'Listen to OcUK, ignore EVERYONE else :D

The E6420 has an 8X multiplier so to run at 3Ghz the FSB would be 375. That would mean your RAM would only be at 750. Are you planning on using a ratio?

I would suggest a better goal would be 3.2Ghz on the CPU resulting in a nice 800mhz on the memory.

i've got one of these and i think its good in terms of the whole package, and people will back it to the hilt just cuz they've got one, but if you read around people generally praise the whole HSF package or **** the fan for having good figures on paper but not actually having the air pressure of some of its competitors...

i've ordered a few 120mm fans including a sharkoon 2000rpm, a scythe s-flex "f" series and an xClio 2400prm...

basically i want to play with the cooling and experiment with the different ones, i wanted to make the judgement for myself so i'll keep you posted :)

but the HS on the noctua is top notch ;) - just not sure about the power of the fan...

i too was looking at this cooler but heard some1 say it wont fit onto a EVGA 680i this true??

If its designed for skt 775 then it will fit on it, its probobly because his case is too small? I imagine
