Any one have one of these and can tell me if they have had any problems with the backplate shorting any thing on the MB.

Specifically the Gigabyte S3 MB but any MB might help me with the problem I have of my machine now not booting since I installed the Noctua.

have you installed it properally?

keeping the protective cover on the white square in the middle?

remove and refit,

I have one clamped on to my DS3P. Works a treat, no problems with mine !

Yep installed properly with the white square still on, gonna strip it down again tonight and re-do it.

It looks like it could possible be my powers upply though.

If you're sure it's the backplate try putting 3 or 4 layers of electrical tape on the plate where it contacts the mobo and see if that makes a diff.
