Hi, just started my new build, all was going well until i started to install the heatsink:

Basically when I screw the heatsink onto the Motherboard [Asus P6T Intel X58] the heatsink appears to be 'loose' all the screws are tightened right to the max but the heatsink will still wobble abit. I applied some thermal paste the first time i tried to fit the heatsink on and it barely touched the CPU :/

Did you put the spacers in? You place the mounting bracket through the mobo holes, then put the spacers on, then put the crescent-shaped pieces on top of that. I didn't get any wobbling.

It did take me ages to work out how to mount the fan clips though. If you're struggling, they go vertically! Maybe I was just tired when I was doing it, but I really couldn't see from the diagram which way it was meant to go.

Yes. The only other thing I can think of is that you may have mismounted the spring-screw brackets on the cooler itself. Do these brackets support the cooler or hold it down in your build? They should be holding it down, i.e. on top of the cooler's contact plate.

They are kind of supporting it, there's no contact between the cpu and bottom of the heatsink, pretty hard to describe. I'll try get some pics up.
