perhaps a new rival to everyones favourite, the noctua NH-D14

especially with upgrades such as improved fans like vipers.

I couldn't care less what a cooler looks like i'll take ugly but good performance over beautiful averageness.

It's probably going to be 1-3 c cooler than it's big brother though lol

Yep, I think that closed loop water cooling solutions will soon be the de facto choice for high end cooling.

What is it with Noctua and these hideous colour fans? They really do alienate a large part of the market. That being all those with window cases.

I can't see that happening given an air cooler will be superior as it is already without making them bigger.

With that size they must weigh a lot - what sort of strain is that going to put on the motherboard

Maybe they'll find a way to keep the weight down

but less weight means less conduction to take away the heat doesnt it?

I'm sure the Noctua mounting kit is enough to cope with its weight.

i agree, but i would be very concerned about it if you needed to ever move the machine, that is a lot of weight for a thin pcb to take

I agree its not the mounting kit that you need to worry about - its the strain on the motherboard

Well, the mounting kit takes the strain off the motherboard.

As for transporting it, just make sure the PC is flat.
