I've had this unit a while now, really good cooler imo.

I'm clocked to 3.8 (i7) and idle temps are 38/39, load temps 79-81.

Should the fans on the Noctua be blowing towards the heatsink, or should the front be push and rear pull?

you want to be push and pull probably, so push into the HS and out the back of the case.

it's a great performing cooler but the fans and attachment system is a total farse. i had enough trouble trying to fit 3 x ram sticks in beneath the outer fan but trying to fit an additional 3 sticks last night was beyond a joke. had to pull the fan right up so it wasn't touching the ram heatsinks. just seems like some kind of ancient torture contraption compared to all the other components in my rig.

you'd think some kind of ramping system with teeth and a little pully would work better and look better.

np :) cool air in the front, hot air out the back, seems to work.

i do have issues with temps myself, but i think it's more this hot summer than anything else. in the winter I was topping out at 88C under full load now it's more like 105... bit high for my liking! having to turn off a couple of threads to keep it around 90.

Or maybe the vcore is too high. The stock OCUK 4Ghz profile usually has the vcore at 1.3v and this can be dropped a notch or two depending on your cpu.

Mine tops out now low 80s with 1,000 rpm fan speed on the U12, was low 90s last September.
