Hi guys I had a question regarding air cooling vs AIO.

I have a Noctua U12s at the moment on a 1700x which I will hopefully be upgrading to a 3700x, I wanted to know would I be better to stick with the Noctua or look at AIO?

I will also try to overclock the CPU, from online vs reviews, it does not look to be a huge difference but I don't think any of them had been overclocked.

I wanted to ask for first-hand experiences.

I have no idea of AIOs, If I went for an AIO, I would be looking at the low end due to budget.

Hi,

I had a a U12S cooler, with 2x120mm fans, and it cooled my 10600K nicely, but when I upgraded to a 18050K it struggled a bit, I changed to a Corsair 240mm AIO and its great, and also my system is sooo much quieter.

What model was the aio ?
also was the cooling better or was it just the noise ?

Thanks, was it a huge difference or just noticeable?

tbh, quite a difference, dropped temps on a modest bios setting around 12-14 degrees. And the noise reduction is more from my GPU I think..

It can be hard to tell which components are causing what levels of noise..

I'm quite sold on AIO as a minimum because it just redirects heat away from other components if positioned correctly.

Also any AIO solution also means fans spin more consistently and there is a ramp up of temperature. Overall, gives a better look with less clutter

I am considering a AIO But I have no idea which to get and which to ignor

I came accross this when looking

Arctic freezer offer the best value and have a very thick radiator so check clearance to thr motherboard if fitting at the top of your case.

I have the phanteks primo at the moment and hoping to get the Lancool 2 mesh or 011 evo when it comes (If priced well) also How do I check the clearance ?

I'm surprised @doyll has not replied yet he's normally good with this type of question.

Manual or email to manufacturer, maybe another forum member may know.
