Has anyone been able to get these fitted to their fans?

I cant seem to get them threw for love nor money, it's like either the fan hole is too small or the compensators are too girthy (heh).

Even tried using silicone spray to try and get them fitted but still no go.

Any tips?

It's not the metal of the case that's the problem, the VC's fit in there easily. It's mounting the fan in to the VC's that's proving a problem.

I bought 4 Noctuas for my server and 1 came with my NH-U12P, so imagine what I went through. :)

Some small plyers or tweezers will pull them through without damaging them, Noctua build quality for the win. Very satisfying once you get them all through :D

Aye, done it now thanks to a handy pair of long nose pliers. :)

I did wrap the tips in insulation tape though so I didn't damage the mounts. Have to say it's very fiddly, but very secure once they're in properly.

Are you going to leave it with no fan guard?

I wouldn't want to plug something in with an unguarded 120mm fan running at 1200 RPM nearby.

All my fans are without guards, for both my PC's. Internal and external guards have been removed. I guess you can tuck the mouse cables etc together with a tie wrap and sticky pad/hole thing so no way can go into the fan.

Be more likely a sever an artery on those burrs from the clipped grille than draw blood from a slow-spinning Noctua ;)

They seem to be made of good quality materials, because I pulled on one so hard it went straight through all the holes and came out the other side still intact. :D

And the fan guards ocuk sell are quite good they dont impinge on airflow! :p
