I downloaded the new trial version of ESET's NOD32 a few weeks ago (I'll probably buy it soon).

I've found that it sometimes blocks websites if it finds them suspicious I guess (it was a forum).

Is there anyway to disable this - if so is it safe? Or would you suggest I rather keep this feature enabled?

Thanks.

Just the AV...

I remember turning it off a couple of weeks ago, but I was mostly wondering if this is safe, as I don't want all kinds of malware, etc. from bogus websites.

I've not experienced NOD32 doing this to me but then I only visit sites I know. :) I would say keep the protection on and try to work out if the sites being blocked are dodgy or not.

Never seen NOD32 do this either. Sounds like the Security Suite version

Can you take a screencap?

This appears in IE:

And this appears just above the system tray:

And it's not a porn site :p just some rapidshare stuff.

I'd trust NOD32 if it's not a site I visit often and know it's 100% safe (i.e. overclockers, google, my blog, break, etc).

well...yeah... I mean no... ;)

...as far as I know it's a rapidshare forum or something. A friend at work mentioned it to me.

Amen.

I'd leave it then. Just because your friend recommended it doesn't mean its safe. They may have lots of spyware or other crap on their PC now.
